Muse Rock

The heading just can not say it all!

Any slight hesitation that I might have had about enjoying the Muse concert I went to last night, was blown out of the water almost as soon as those guys got on stage. Those guys know how to play live and no one can say they don't!

My personal favorites for the night have to be Sunburn, Plug in Baby, and Muscle Museum. Such amazing stuff!
Bellamy is a most amazing pianist, and guitarist, and vocalist all at the same time. The bassist has attitude that just pours off him while he is standing on his platform (and indeed when he jumps off it). And the drummer, well, not only does he play some awesome drums, but he speaks too! In fact, he seems to be the only member of the band that likes to speak. But that's not a bad thing, since we were there to listen to them play, not find out what they had for breakfast!
Another amazing aspect of the gig was the stuff they pulled to help magnify the experience. Of course we know that a great live gig needs more than just good music. It needs great music. In fact it needs more than just great music. It needs amazing music. And then to be really special, it needs amazing music plus ... Lights ... Video Walls ... Balloons ... Lots of flying paper ... Smoke ... A funky instrument (like a black metal piano with lights on the front that light with the keys). Basically it needs to be a whole experience and needs to stimulate more than just your hearing. Muse did this very well indeed. The only sense they failed to stimulate with me was taste (but I will them them off on that one).
The light show stuff was amazing. The video walls behind them were great. Little cameras on the stage in interesting places (such as by the piano keys and rights next to Matt Bellamy's head) let us see the band playing from a great perspective) and then the Interactive Elements (as I like to call them) such as lots and lots of balloons, BIG and small. And papers bombs. All Very Cool Stuff!
I don't think I can say any more at the moment. Except maybe, if you haven't seen muse live, you are missing out on something. GO NOW!
My camera is still out of service, but I hope to get some pictures off the others folks who went with me soon. That's all from me on Muse for now.

UPDATE: I have put some muse picture into the gallery. These are not from cardiff, but it will give you an impression as to what it was like, since they used the same set up.
Gallery >> and then find the Muse folder.

UPDATE 2: Just incase you didn't know, the Cardiff Muse gig was played on Radio 1. This means that you can find a recording of it on the radio one website listen again section. Just look for the Lamacq Live link in the Alternative section. Be warned though, the recording is not that great.

UPDATE 3:
