Whitespace Logo Contest

Whitespace 2 : 82k. Whitespace 2 : 82k.

Paul Scrivens is holding a Logo Contest for his site. I would love to enter his Version 2 contest, but I never have the time. This logo contest though appealed to me as soon as I read about it. I came up with some ideas in my head yesterday, and started drawing some of them down last night.

These two logos, are only two of about five that I have come up with. I think that Whitespace 2 is my favorite so far. Whitespace 1 gives a good idea as to how I developed number 2. I am under no illusion as to my graphic design skills, I am not great. But I will enter the contest to try and learn something from it.

Whitespace 1 : 99k. Whitespace 1 : 99k.

The closing date is this Friday, so I probably will make a few more, and then send them all to Paul in an email on thursday night (Since I have a wedding to attend on Friday). I am really looking forward to what other people submit, and I encourage you to give it a go if you have the time.

Update: I have added an image of what 'whitespace 2' would look like in place of Pauls current logo.

Nice work! I agree, v2 looks better as the lighter shade makes the anti-aliasing much smoother. I really like the idea of mocking up how it would look on the site, it sure changes the look, doesn't it? Are you going to make a favicon to go with it?

Thanks for updating my link mate, I knew you would get to it without my prodding once you had some time.

    Thanks Hass.

No worries about the link. It has been on my mind for a few days, I have just kept forgetting to actually do it.

    I hadn't thought about a favicon. I don't think I will.

hehe, your thought process was along the same lines as mine: V2 is too encompassing, but logos are quick to do! so hey, logos it is!

I like the effect and agree that the more suble #2 is a little better. I submitted a few, but logos arent my forte. Good luck!

(i also love the "get firefox" link at the bottom of your site)

Sorry, commenting has been disabled for a while. I am getting a stupid amount of comment spam, and need to find a new way of doing things.

I will not publish your email address, but I may use it to get in contact with you.
