Letter of Resignation
Dear All,
As required by my contract of employment, I hereby give you my 4 weeks’ notice of my intention to leave my current position. I would like to conclude my employment on Tuesday the 29th of June 2004.I wish you and the software section every good fortune and I would like to thank you for taking me back on board as part of your team. I regret having to leave the web team almost as soon as I have come back. This was not an easy decision and took a lot of consideration.
Yours Sincerely,
Phil Baines

Hass,
It is a combination of things that has brought me to this.
1. Thinking that it is about time that I leave home.
2. Thinking that my job with local government is not going to allow me to show off my true skills.
3. Thinking that joining forces with a friend and his company will give me a better chance to prove my worth.
And more.
It is amazing how some people strive for that secure job, and then someone like me, feels so restricted by it. But for now, my life is going to be full of mystery as to what is to come, and as to whether it will all work out as I hope.
Thanks again for your concern, but if things work out, it wont be all bad at all.
(I have sent this to you in email, with a little more info on a certain something we talked about before)

I've been in some very similar situations in my life.
Wish you all the best with your new adventure.

I've been working at my current job for a year and a few months now, and I was at my previous job for three years. I wonder what the average length of time people stay at a company is now. It's hard to fathom staying at one company for decades.

Everyone, meet my new boss! That is the first and last time I call you 'boss' Duncan! ;)

More information will come about Duncan, and the company, in the future.
I would also be interested in finding out what the average job span is these days. I think half the reason people don't stay with companies that long any more, is because the big corperations dont look after their workers like they used to. People therefor feel no obligation to stay with the company.
I do remember reading something once, that in the UK, a high percentage of people start looking for a new job within the first week of starting a new job. Kinda strange really.
Just so you know, I didn't have to go looking for my new job. :)
