To greater things
As some of you may have guessed by now, I am (yet again), leaving my job.
I handed in my notice on Tuesday, and I have booked the 9 days holiday due to me. So, my last day with the Local Authority will be on Wednesday the 16th of this month (June).
Working in the local government has teaches me a lot. I have had the chance to gain a lot of experience in the field, and I have been able to spend a lot of time teaching myself the finer skills used in the field. I have gone through some very busy times, and some very quiet times.
I do feel that in some cases the public sector has taught me how not to do it also. I have seen a lot of my work go to waist, because someone else thinks they know better, and I have seen my skills go unnoticed by the people that make the decisions in the organisation. My team have always helped me overcome the annoyance that this has caused me, but now I have an opportunity to actually get used properly. I have no choice but to jump at it, with both feet first.
So, where am I going? Well, I won't be going into to much detail on this one yet, but I am going to join forces with a close friend of mine, and with his company. He is a very skilled person, named Duncan Gray, and he is the one person ultimately to blame for getting me into this business.
His company has me very excited, and the possibilities for the future with this company have me even more excited. I really believe that I will have a lot to give to this company, and that we are going to take over the world. Well, maybe we will only take over the UK to start with. ;)

Thanks guys!
It is good to see that I am not the only one who sees these holes with public sector work.
Eric, with the quality of the work that I have seen you do, I am sure that it wont take long for them to be bashing down your door.

oh, and...
Great having you back.
Eric
And thanks for the encouraging words - my current non-public employment does have some potential, but so far has only resulted in one site, currently in the works. Hopefully you will see some new things in my portfolio in the next few months.

Sorry, commenting has been disabled for a while. I am getting a stupid amount of comment spam, and need to find a new way of doing things.
I will not publish your email address, but I may use it to get in contact with you.
