sevenTwentyfour?

Sorry for the lack of updates of late guys and gals, life is busy in the land of Phil Baines, and the land of Netring.

Anyway, I just had this email from www.seventwentyfour.com letting me know about a dead link on my site. I like the idea of having a Robot going around letting people know if their sites have problems. It keeps the web clean, and links alive. I just wonder if anyone knows anything about this company? Why are they doing this, and how are they going to make money out of it?

If you have any info, let me know. I might offer them a better web site, I think they need it!

    A free alternative

    I use a Windows application called Xenu Link Sleuth ( http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html ) to spider my sites for broken links.

    Its quick, works, and more importantly FREE!

    I had a look at seventwentyfour's pricing structure. With only 200 external links for $99 it's going to be very expensive for blog-esque sites :-(

    Well, I didn't pay for the email they sent me, hence why I was wondering how they make money. Unless of course they think I will sign up for continual checking and pay for it.

    I have never really thought about having something to check my site for dea links before. Most of the time I will get an email if I have a dead link.

    Phil, I found out your website, when I was trying to know more about
    that stupid Roy Bryant and his hellish enterprise! I had NEVER asked his "useful" information. Because of him, I have had MANY troubles:
    I found out that there was a
    keylogger in my computer(they had gotten my password to the control panel in the server) and someone had been changing the source code of my pages...what a coincidence: every time that it happened, I received a message from Mr.Bryant! I 've lost time and money (I also had to buy another hard disk...). If you don't believe in me, take a look at these links:

    I'm also sure this is a scam. I got an email from Roy Bryant to tell me I had a broken link. I checked it and found the link wasn't broken and he had the filename of the link he claimed was broken wrong.

    Suggest don't reply to his email?
